As medical educators, we feel we have a role to play in acknowledging the broader societal needs for health and well-being (and sometimes simply survival). As such, since our first year Psychiatry Review Course has taken the initiative of donating 3% of the proceeds from registration fees of all registrants for our International Conferences to charities for international humanitarian aid. This contribution is provided to registered non-denominational charities, including the Red Cross, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), and Unicef.

We are pleased to have been the first CME organization in the world to have made such an ongoing commitment to humanitarian aid, and hope this example encourages other organizations to likewise contribute towards similar humanitarian causes.
